About Us

BUDDHA WEAR was founded in , Indonesia in 2006. We started out producing yoga wear, but before too long requests from our customers took us one step further into making everyday wear, too.

Some things shouldn’t change though, and our original objective remains the same today: Creating great-fitting designs made from high-quality fabrics in appealing colours. We want our customers to feel as good as they look in our chic and comfy clothes.

BUDDHA WEAR has always been a socially and ethically responsible company. It is very important for us to know our staff, their faces and their families. We work hard to counteract the sweatshop mentality that is prevalent in Indonesia. Our own Wear Fair policy ensures our staff receive a fair wage with health benefits, plus subsidized meals and after-school childcare. These are simple and fair things, often taken for granted in other countries.

BUDDHA WEAR only uses materials supplied by companies whose production isn’t directly harmful to the environment. We spend considerable time seeking out certified eco-friendly companies and personally visit them to witness firsthand their manufacturing processes, and their staff conditions.

BUDDHA WEAR donates a portion of their profit to charities for the support and care of HIV positive children in .

Wear Fair

jeffrossboston designs clothes for women of integrity, so producing garments with integrity is very much the cornerstone of our business.

Our ‘Wear Fair’ policy means more than fair conditions and a fair wage. jeffrossboston contributes to our employees’ healthcare and childcare costs, plus we take the time to celebrate important cultural ceremonies and occasions that matter to each individual.

Our manufacturing premises are spacious and comfortable, and we work hard to ensure our employees enjoy coming to work for us; many, in fact, have remained loyal for years.

We also offer work to highly skilled people, particularly women, in more remote areas where childcare is non-existent. This means women can work at home to earn an income while still caring for children and carrying out their home duties. With the opportunity to work for jeffrossboston comes the prospect of contributing to the family wage and the greater community, and to build self-esteem.

The exploitation of garment factory workers was highlighted tragically with Bangladesh’s Rana Plaza collapse in 2013. Conditions like those endured by workers there are unfortunately a common reality of the global clothing manufacturing business. jeffrossboston vehemently opposes treating workers poorly. The welfare of our workers is paramount. We campaign for other companies to commit more to the people who make it all happen.
